Diving in Turkey - ZIPKINCI

Every time I cross the bay on the ferry to IYTE I get a thrill. I don't know why this is; perhaps it's related to my star sign: Pisces (Balık). I'm not the world's best swimmer (and have never been diving) but I'm still pretty certain Turkey has some of the best diving possibilities available anywhere in the world. What do others think about this? Which areas of the Aegean would you recommend for someone like myself or my friends and family to start diving?

Hello Wayne, are you ready to open the doors to the underwater world you have seen on TV and wondered about?( not the bay you have been crossing everyday!!! :lol: ) Here's the chance to experience weightlessness and soundlessness; the feeling closest to being in the space, and the most important spending a day that is very different from your everyday.

If you are not certified as diver ( not the world's best swimmer :cry: )and want to give it a try, there is a chance to dive with an instructor one-on-one about 30 minutes. Of course prior to your dive you must be present at the 1 hour briefing .
The diving areas and daily tours around Bodrum and Fethiye offer some of the best preserved dive sites in the Aegean Sea.

In about 4 days you can be a certified diver by getting a CMAS 1 certificate. Normally the course takes four days but for success criteria is based on performance not time; it may take a little longer. At the end of the program, you are free to explore the big blue ...

Hi Wayne, i can recommend you to dive Bodrum and its environs as a start, but if you want to use a speargun while diving, sure you've got to get a permission - accurate for free-diving , but no need for scuba diving, and of course Çeşme and it's environs are beautiful too, so it's up to you, whenever and wherever you want to dive , diving schools and spearos of my country will be your side to help you all the time.Go ahead , my country will be pleased to welcome you. Hi m8 i would like to say abouth scuba locations in trukey for aegean check bodrum (big reef (upper levels, kaçakcılar bay(lower levels) also u can check from google med.side antalya KAŞ u can found some interesting offers and vocations in these places and here is the link of some cheap vocations

If you are looking for somewhere to start scuba diving with your family in Turkey, you definitely have a lot of choices but KAS (western Mediterranean) is known as one of the best diving spots in the world not just in Turkey. If you insist on trying the Aegean, Fethiye (where i live) is the best choice i guess!

Hi Trotman, you can apply IYTE Sualtı Topluluğu to get beginner diving licence. i m master student in IYTE and i know you. Mrs Deniz was my instructor in preparation class.
