1. Never modify or change the operation of your speargun by permanently disabling the safety lock.
2. Always secure/lockup your speargun or polespear, especially when children are near!
3. Always rinse your speargun or polespear in fresh water after each use.
4. Soak and rinse your speargun or polespear in fresh water after each use. Allow them to dry fully in the shade before storage.
5. For top performance, always inspect your speargun or polespear for wear and tear (especially aging rubber) and maintain your speargun.
6. Always ask your dive store professional to service your speargun or polespear when you're not sure how to do so or when you are unable to do so.
7. Store your speargun or polespear in a dry cool place; we recommend you store the bands in a sealed plastic bag and then place them in the refrigerator if at all possible.
All speargun shafts should be lightly oiled periodically. ENHANCING THE SPEED OF YOUR SHOT
If you are using a hardened spear shaft then it may be slowing down your shot. During the hardening and cooling process residue is left behind on the spear shaft. If the spear shaft is polished hardened steel then you're half way there!
Try polishing the shaft shiny and smooth.
Next, try spraying a thin film of silicone spray on the track of the spear gun.
Load the spear shaft as normal. Spray the silicone on the shaft covering the track.
Simple, but this application will drastically decrease the amount of drag the shaft will experience against the track when fired. The silicone spray is considered food grade quality and will not spoil the fish's meat or create any kind of biohazard. The silicone will also dissolve slowly off the track and shaft throughout the day of spear fishing. Therefore, reapply before each dive.
